REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – LEGAL SERVICES
The Liberty County Board of County Commissioners will receive proposals until 4 p.m. E.S.T. on October 4, 2024, at the office of Daniel R. Stanley, Liberty County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, P.O. Box 399/10818 NW SR 20; Bristol, Florida 32321. All proposals shall be from members in good standing with the Florida Bar. Please provide one original and five copies of this proposal. Liberty County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, with or without cause, to waive technicalities, or to accept proposals which, in its sole judgment, best serve the needs of the county. All proposals will be marked on the outside of a sealed envelope: RFP – LEGAL SERVICES.
Proposals will address the following legal services:
1) A monthly flat fee for the furnishing of legal services, advice, development of resolutions and ordinances, assistance in policy revision, attendance at meetings, and for legal correspondence for the Liberty County Board of County Commissioners for all non-litigation matters not to exceed $42,000.00 per year.
2) An hourly rate for legal services furnished to the Liberty County Board of County Commissioners for all of its litigation matters not to exceed $150.00 per hour. Litigation matters are defined as all matters for which a formal complaint or action has been filed in a county, state, or federal court, or with any administrative agency.
All proposals will include the following:
- Complete name
- Experience in County, State, and Governmental Law
- Experience in Administrative Law
- Experience in Civil Law
- Number of years in practice
- Number of years in trial practice
- Appellate experience
- Litigation experience
- Support
- Price
Packets will be prepared, and the Liberty County Board of County Commissioners will review all proposals at an open special meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. EST in the Courtroom of the Liberty County Courthouse. All applicants will be interviewed by the Board that night. The Attorney will be selected and begin work the night of the regular Board meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. E.S.T.
