The Liberty County Board of County Commissioners has engaged the services of the Apalachee Regional Planning Council to oversee Planning and Zoning Services.
When is a Planning & Zoning Permit required?
- A permit is necessary when you intend to construct or place any new structures on your property. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: a new residential home, a mobile home, a shed, or a pole barn. It is required to obtain this permit prior to applying for any additional permits related to your property.

Building Department Fee Schedule
To apply for a Planning and Zoning Permit, you will need to provide the following documentation:
1. A copy of the deed indicating you as the grantee for the parcel in question.
2. A site map that outlines the parcel and includes a detailed description of the existing items on the property, as well as any proposed structures or modifications.
3. A completed Planning and Zoning application form.
You can submit your application through our online portal, where you can also upload all required documents. Alternatively, you may bring the necessary paperwork to the Building Department, and our staff will be pleased to assist you.
